How does Customs work with SHEIN? [How to avoid paying easily]

Can your SHEIN order be stopped at Customs? A very unfortunate problem, but one that can be avoided or minimized, is the delay of your order in the customs of your country. In this article you will find information on how to avoid this situation.

If you order products made in China in the SHEIN online store, your order will have to go through customs control, as you may be a resident of another country.

If your order from SHEIN is delayed by customs, you will have to pay an additional fee, so ordering from SHEIN is not as cheap as you initially thought.

How customs works with SHEIN

Customs is an international terminal located on the border between countries that controls incoming foreign trade and imposes taxes (also known as customs duties) on goods whose price exceeds a certain limit or that do not comply with the rules (for example , if the content does not match the invoice).

In the case of having to pay SHEIN customs , one of these two things will have happened:

- The content of your package does not correspond to the invoice.

- The price of your package exceeds the minimum limit to pay the tariff.

If you have to pay customs, you will receive a message on your mobile that warns you that if you want to receive the order you will have to pay customs.

As of July 1, 2021 you must pay the VAT of your country if you are in the European Union on the products you buy outside of it, although this has nothing to do with the customs payment, it is a tax that should be noted.

This VAT has announced SHEIN that it will be included in their platform so we do not have to worry. If VAT is not included, it will be the shipping companies that we will have to pay to manage this tax.

Avoid customs on your SHEIN order

SHEIN has no control over the specific rights of each country and is subject to the terms and conditions of each country. SHEIN's order tracking tool allows you to see that your order has been inspected by a customs inspector, but this does not necessarily mean that you have to pay customs duties.

Additionally, SHEIN may divide your order into multiple packages to avoid customs inspection. However, we believe that it is worth choosing the option that best suits you to solve your obligation and buy clothes cheaply.

However, if you want to avoid paying customs duties on a SHEIN order, there are several solutions.

Pay the customs fee for your SHEIN package

If you live in the European Union and your order exceeds 150 euros you will have to pay insurance VAT and SHEIN cannot do anything about it since it is the current legislation.

If you live outside the European Union and your order is held in customs and you don't want to waste time, you can choose to pay fees. This rate is a percentage of the order value and depends on the price of the product and the country where you buy it.

Ask SHEIN to refund the duty to us

SHEIN can pay us between 50% and 100% of customs fees in the event that orders are held up by customs because of them, that is, they have mismarked the order with respect to its content.

If you have proof of claimed customs duties, you can contact SHEIN support and submit this photo to request a refund of customs duties.

These customs duties can be refunded to your bank account or to your SHEIN wallet, but the refund to your SHEIN wallet is the fastest.

Customs, although they are good in nature, prevent us from buying low-cost and placing our orders at a low price. This way you will know how you handle SHEIN customs if you have problems with them.
